Golden Media Player privacy policy

This page explains how Golden Media Player handles video and audio files, permissions, notifications, and local media playback on Android.

Introduction

Golden Media Player is a local media playback app. It is designed to open video and audio files already stored on your device and play them through a clear golden interface without requiring an account or uploading your files to our servers.

Access to video and audio files

The app requests access to video and audio so it can display local media files, play them, and create the display data needed inside the app. On older Android versions, it may use the legacy storage read permission depending on what the system allows.

  • Read local video files for in-app playback
  • Read local audio files for playback and organization inside the experience
  • Support opening media received from other apps when you choose that action

Data stored locally

The app may store simple local data to improve the experience, such as settings, last playback state, index data, resume positions, and information needed to play media faster. This data remains on your device and can be removed by clearing app data from Android settings or uninstalling the app.

Notifications and background audio

The app may use Android notifications to show playback status and media controls when audio runs in the background. These notifications are not used for marketing or noisy messages. You can disable or adjust notifications from system settings.

  • Show playback status and basic controls
  • Support background audio through a foreground media service
  • Help prevent playback from stopping unexpectedly when the system allows it

Picture in picture and system integration

The app supports picture in picture when your Android device supports it. This feature shows video in a small floating window while you use other apps, and it does not give the app permission to read content from those apps.

The app may use a quick settings tile or system media integrations when you enable them. These integrations are designed for playback control and are not intended to collect personal data.

What we do not do

In the current release, the app does not require an account, does not upload your video or audio files to our servers, does not sell your data, and does not use your media files for advertising.

  • We do not require sign-in for media playback
  • We do not upload your media library to the internet
  • We do not use your files to train models or build ads

Sharing with other apps

The app may let you share or open a file through another app when you choose that action on your device. When you use sharing, the receiving app handles the file according to its own privacy policy, not only this policy.

Deletion and control

You can remove local app data from in-app settings or Android settings depending on what the system provides. Uninstalling the app removes its local data, but it does not delete original media files stored in your folders unless you explicitly delete them.

Children

The app is not specifically directed to children. If a child uses it with guardian supervision, media files and local data remain under the control of the device owner or guardian.

Updates and contact

We may update this policy when app features, permissions, or data practices change. For privacy questions, contact us at yootastudio@gmail.com.
