YootaPlay privacy policy

This page explains how the app handles files, permissions, data, and Success Companion integration in a local-first playback experience built around clarity.

Introduction

This page explains how YootaPlay handles files, permissions, local processing, and limited external services in the current Android release. The app is primarily designed as a local media player, so most processing happens on your device.

Files, permissions, and system integrations

The app needs access to video and audio files already stored on your device so it can scan the local media library, display basic metadata, generate thumbnails, and play files. It also uses Android integrations such as picture-in-picture, media controls, and the quick settings tile when those capabilities are enabled.

  • Access to on-device video and audio for local playback and organization
  • Local notifications related to playback or in-app reminders when enabled
  • Support for opening files received from other apps through Android sharing flows
  • Share videos, posts, or images with other apps only when you choose share or export inside the app

Data stored locally

The app stores some data locally on the device to improve the experience and playback speed. This includes settings, playlists, favorites, resume positions, media index caches, last-played data, video notes or drafts you create in the app, and customizations you configure yourself.

Success Companion integration

YootaPlay can integrate locally with Success Companion when the other app is installed and the required permissions are enabled from both apps settings. When read access is allowed, YootaPlay may read note or post data needed for the feed, such as title, text, tags, and video links, so it can show or organize video-related items in the experience. It can also save a new note or item into Success Companion, or open the same item there when you choose that action.

This integration uses local Android mechanisms between trusted Yoota apps and does not send your notes to a server because of the integration itself. You can turn the integration off or limit read, save, or open access from the available settings.

  • Read the note or post data needed for the YootaPlay feed when you allow it
  • Save notes or items from YootaPlay into Success Companion when you choose save or sync
  • Open a note or item in Success Companion when tapped if opening is allowed

Vault and local lock

The app may provide vault or lock features to protect files or items selected by the user. These features use local device protection and may rely on device lock or biometric authentication when the user enables it and Android supports it. We do not receive your fingerprint or face data because authentication is handled by the system itself.

Third-party and external services

Release builds may use Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports and technical error data. This may include crash logs, general device and OS information, app version details, and technical keys needed to diagnose issues and improve stability. The current release does not use advertising SDKs or targeted marketing analytics.

Retention and deletion

Local data created by the app remains on your device until you delete it from inside the app, remove the app, or remove the related content depending on its type. Original media files are not deleted unless you explicitly choose a delete action.
