Messages from the Quran privacy policy

Messages from the Quran is a Quran app focused on Quran reading, daily ayahs, selected ayahs, and calm reminders. The app is designed to work without a user account, without ads, and without selling user data or using it for marketing tracking.

Some practices may change when new features are added or when recitation or external-link behavior changes. When that happens, we will update this page before approving the new store release whenever possible.

The app stores settings, reading positions, favorites, bookmarks, reminder settings, delivery history, and preferences on the device. This data is used to improve reading and reminders, and does not require creating an account or sending it to our server.

The app is configured not to allow cloud backup of app data. Device-transfer rules also exclude app databases, files, and preferences.

The app uses Quran text and font files reviewed before being included in the app. The Quran text must not be altered, and any Quran source update must pass review and verification before release.

The app pages or settings screen may show source and credit information, such as the Quran text source and the display font source. These credits are included for transparency and respect for source rights.

Reminders run only when the user enables them. The app uses notification permission to show a Quran reminder or a state related to recitation or alerts. Notifications can be turned off inside the app or from Android settings.

The app uses background scheduling suitable for calm reminders. Reminders may not arrive at the exact second because Android manages battery and background work, which helps reduce battery use and respect system policies.

The app uses the boot-completed permission to reschedule reminders after the phone restarts if reminders were previously enabled.

The app may request permission to appear above other apps only when floating reminders are enabled. This permission allows the app to show an ayah as a calm reminder above other apps with the user approval.

This feature does not record the screen, read other app content, or collect data from open apps. Its purpose is to show the ayah selected by the in-app reminder system, and it can be turned off at any time.

The app uses internet permission when needed for features such as downloading recitations or opening source and store links. In the current release, the app does not use the internet to create accounts or upload your reading data to our server.

When a recitation is downloaded from an external source, the file provider may see ordinary connection information such as network address and download request, as with any internet download. We do not use this process to sell your data or build a marketing profile.

The app may allow sharing ayah text or an ayah image through other apps. Sharing happens only when you choose it, and after that the data is handled by the app you send it to.

The app is not designed to collect children data. If a child or family member uses it, settings, reading activity, and reminders remain under the control of the device owner or guardian.

You can turn reminders off, change their timing, disable floating overlay, delete favorites or bookmarks where deletion is available, or clear all app data from Android settings. Clearing app data may remove local settings, reminder history, and reading positions.
